30 YEAR OLD CLINTONVILLE STAPLE STILL DELIVERS
The Blue Danube or The Dube for short, is not going to win any culinary awards anytime soon. I don’t say this out of spite or any kind of disrespect. It’s just not the kind of place that has menu items that are going to pop out at you as experimental or new takes on old classics. GOOD!!! Comfort food doesn’t need to be messed with and The Dube has it down to a science. Hell, they should after 30 or so odd years of business. When I meet new grad stdents or folks new to the ‘bus The Dube is one of the first places I tell them to try out because I know it’s a safe bet that the menu will have something for anyone and there kitchen is consistent. The beer is cheap and the atmosphere is laid back and low key. Perfect place to either start your night off or even better, is to end up there and end your evening with a well cooked, almost like mom makes late dinner.
